Transport in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley
Chamonix is a small town with limited parking space!
In an attempt to deal with this problem, we strongly advise runners and those accompanying them to move around on public transport.
Leave your vehicle parked at your lodgings or at the free car-parks (Grands Montets or Flégère car-parks) then take the free public transport from there!
You, as a privileged visitor in the Mont-Blanc Pays, may also benefit from using the urban Chamonix bus service (excluding the night service) and the SNCF train between Servoz and Vallorcine simply by presenting your carte d’hôte. If you are staying in one of the communes, ask for one at your accommodation, if not ask for one from one of the race information points in Chamonix.
Chamonix is a small town. The Chamonix (SNCF) railway station is 5 minutes walk from the town centre and the start and finish area and 10 minutes from the Centre Sportif where there is the race-bib distribution (see map).
Consult the bus and the Mont-Blanc Express Train time-tables at
Free shuttle buses to the town centre
Use the free "Mulets" (shuttle buses) to reach the different areas of the race easily and circulate freely in the town centre.
You may also call the "Mulet des Hameaux", a transport service upon request, which gives you the possibility of moving between outlying urban areas (not served by the urban routes) to Chamonix town centre (upon reservation).
All information available at http://chamonix.montblancbus.com/fr
Service available between 07:45 and 19:00
Frequency: a mulet every 15 minutes
Outside of these times, a mini-bus can take runners to their lodging (within the valley) after their race, upon request from PC Transport (HQ)
Parking for camper vans is authorised at the Grepon car-park and forbidden elsewhere.
